A/C Compressor
« on: 16 August 2014, 22:29 »
Hey all,

I just had my 2010 GiT back from MOT & Service, carried out under extended warranty plan purchased in 2013.
I mentioned a constant whining noise from the A/C and I noticed that when I dropped the car off to them they had already noted 'compressor' and also had it pre-ordered for the works. When I picked the car up I fully expected to be charged but they didn't do so but wouldn't give too much away when I asked why.
I have a feeling that this is a recognised issue but have not made this public, so this is a heads up to all Mk6 owners.......!

I was advised at my last service that my Aircon wasn't working properly and that VW would replace the Compressor as a good will guesture as the bolt sheers inside and all they want is an hours labour cost towards it, i don't use my aircon ever but i don't wont the pump going tits up and causing other issues so mines booked in for next week to be replaced.
