Front end clunk
« on: 16 August 2014, 17:49 »
As i seem to answer my own technical questions and as it appears very few of you have any idea about engineering i think i may have found the issue i'm having i had a google and it seems it a well known problem with mk5 and 6 golfs where the subframe bolts are not man enough for the job and the subframe is effectively slipping back an forth ecs supply a kit with a locking spacer to slove this issue

You'll find the older the cars get the more technical minded the newer owners and members become imo. Most from new will have been desk jockeys and accountant's    you know typical Audi/BMW owners   (jk)

I understand your frustration, but as an engineer, you've no doubt got more understanding and insight into mechanical and technical issues than many others.  You have a duty to educate the rest of us numptys.
