fog light upgrade bulbs?
« on: 13 August 2014, 22:54 »
Hi guys,

Just wondering what I could do to upgrade the fogs on the gtd, I don't want anything blue, because you can see the blue bulb reflecting in the day making the fog light look blue. I was thinking more LED/HID I rarely use fogs, but if I do it would be on a dark country road where no one drives as I wouldn't want to blind anyone,

Any recommended LED/HID kits around? anyone using any? any experiences?

Yellow light works better in fog than white light its why xenons are useless in fog as they just reflect back. So putting white bulbs in fogs defeats the object of front fogs imo.if  your using them on country roads I may see a point.

Lol, fogs are divisive.  I use mine and even though the yellow looks at odds with xenons, as snoopy says, they cut through fog far better than bright white light.  Why not go the other way and go more yellow using coloured film, as some on here have.  It's a marmite thing, but I like it looks good on the mk6.

Haha, as said not everyone's cup of tea.  I like it though

But if you do use your fogs, why would you switch over to a bulb that reduces their effectiveness?  Or is it all about looks.

Do you mean the yellow film?  There are a few pics on here somewhere of cars with the fogs done like that, if you can find 'em

Its equal use to looks for me but if the fogs tgat bad that you notice a diff between white light and yellow you'd be crawling and being uber careful so swings an roundabouts ps my whites are brighter
