Bit the bullet, new GTD purchased

Been a while since I posted, but ended up purchasing a new GTD today.
Went in to get a price for one and there was one in the showroom, so did a deal on that.
Part ex'd my mark 5 which has served me well for 9 years, so sad to see it go.
Spec is 5 door Carbon Grey, DSG, Pan sunroof, Discover Pro, Leather, sport and sound pack, winter pack, keyless and 5 year warranty.
We'll spec'd, would have liked the phone prep and rear camera, but no matter.
Pick up start of September.
Happy enough with the deal for a car in stock.
Never had a DSG so looking forward to it.

Nice spec!

Phone prep isn't worth the money in my own experience. I very rarely use the holder in the centre armrest, I just put my phone in the cup holder. Never once had a call drop on me or poor reception.

That's good to know about the phone prep.
Apparently it was a car for one of the sales people for September, so not much choice on the spec but not complaining.

Looking at used cars of up to 6 months and the price they are asking, I don't think I done too bad out of it.
Looking forward to picking it up now.

One for you wheel gurus, will 16 inch alloys fit over the calipers?

Was having a look through the brochure this evening, as not seen it before.
A question for those in the know. The brochure says grey calipers, however on the car that I am picking up has red ones.
Is this an anomaly, or has something changed in the spec?

Red callipers come as part of the sport and sound pack.

So what discount percentage did you achieve on a stock car?

Ah, thanks. Couldn't find this in the brochure.
Was in around 10% before VAT, but got above average for a trade in.

I don't think it mentions it anywhere.
Even the online configurator just mentions an onboard "sound generator" when in fact it has a straight through exhaust with some sort of sound chamber attached to it.

When I took mine in to the dealer for some warranty work the manager couldn't believe the growl off it. He thought I had an after market exhaust installed.
