Apologies if this should be in another section/board but I thought I would get most responses here!
It's been almost 6 months since I bought my 59 Plate Mk6 GTI and I am thoroughly enjoying driving it. Extremely glad I ended up getting a manual and not the boring (sorry to the DSG owners!) auto!
I feel it's time to drive the car on open, twisty back roads with no/low traffic and see what this beast is capable of doing!
Requirements:
1. In or close to Hertfordshire as I am there quite frequently as my other half lives in Hemel Hempstead
2. Must be able to do national speed limit (or 60mph) - haven't bought the car to be doing 30/40 mph
3. No/Low speed cams
4. Smooth surface!
In terms of traffic, I'm not too bothered as I intend to wake up on the crack of dawn on a weekend to avoid it.
Anyone here has any knowledge on any driving roads with the requirements above?
Once I've experimented a little in Hertfordshire I will head towards Wales where I've heard the real gems are hiding
