Gtd184 sorry for late reply. I had a similar ding at BHX went to pick my old man up and whilst in the car a guy let his door open into my passenger for a guy called jag (company is Dent Tech) mobile repair. Absolute quality came to my office and sorted. He is so busy he has booked me in for October but has just coulees the scratch in for now. If you are around botanical gardens give me a buzz/pm and I can meet up with you. Let me know if you want Jag's number.

My wife contacted Jag (Dent Tech) a couple of days ago but he has not returned her call, and he only lives around the corner from me!!

My concern looking at Dent Tech's repair process (and is the same for all mobile repairers) the paint does not appear to get fully 'baked' as in a body shop booth. Colour matching would also concern me as the 2 body shops I have been to have confirmed that they will have to 'blow in' the rear quarter, door and in part the roof shoulder.

The door damage may get away with a smart repair depending on how skilled the technician is.

Decisions, decisions!!

At the risk of making excuses for jag I saw the guys diary he is absolutely rammed ATM.

Out of curiosity what body shops have you been to. I am concerned about the scratch (the cause of this post) may be more serious than I envisaged. I have to say the work on the small chip on the door was fantastic.

I assumed he would be busy based on his customer feedback. I have managed to contact him today and forward to him a couple of images of the damage......just waiting for him to contact me now to discuss the repair in more detail.

The body shops I visited were both VAG, Porsche, Ferrari, Mercedes, Aston Martin and a few others  approved and include City Centre Car Care Ltd (Bradford Street, Birmingham) and Individual Specialist Cars Ltd  (Western Road, Hockley)

I am more worried about the colour match than the actual repairs and the potential for more issues like over spray etc!

What colour is yours? and is the third party paying for the damage to your car?

I haven't been to individual specialist.  I wasn't impressed with city centre car care after my door had a half inch scratch and they wanted 500 quid as they 'had to paint' and blend the whole door.

I'm going to contact individual at some point next week to see how much they will quote.

I had the same response from both ISC and CCCC, they wanted to paint and blow into the rear door and roof!

I have personal experience of CCCC from a previous repair to my wife's Phantom Black Audi A3 in 2010. It was only a bumper change but the paint match was good, the problem was how they cared for her car whilst in their possession, it came back covered in swirls and buffer marks as they attempted to polish out some scuffs they had inflicted on the rear doors, roof and bonnet ....Audi UK reimbursed her the full cost for a detailer to spend 2 days on a full paint correction detail

Had a quick look at your previous posts and I cannot believe how VERY similar the damage is to both your car and my wife's.........the drivers door damage is pretty much identical and the scratch you have on the rear quarter/wheel arch is the same place as the dent my wife has on her GTD and both cars are Pearl Black!

I wonder if we would get a discount if we took both cars in

Like yourself she is worried about insurance claims although she has protected NCB.

Did Jag repair your door scrape?

He did yes. He came by my office to repair a colleague's White X5. I had a look at the work he did I. The x5 before I let him have a crack at the GTD. The repair on that was fantastic so I let him loose on the Gtd. Due to how busy he is he has just coloured the scratch in for now so it's not as visible and then will do the repair in October.

I will ask him to sort summat out if you are happy to go with him.

Damage doesn't look as if someone has used a key! It's came from the front of the car to the rear and it hit the door first, then the quarter panel. Looks like an evenly spaced tram line. Keyed would have meant a linear scratch and it would have been on the same level. If you look at the door, small scratch it hit hard on the quarter panel where the deepest gouge is.
Audi S1 gone, awaiting 1.5tsi r-line, pan roof, led lights front and rear, active dash, 18" jurva alloys and a dealer fitted Oettinger roof spoiler in tornado red.
