Hey guys

Ok, so ed35 was in for warranty work stealers lent me a blue motion golf cabriolet and even tho it pains me to say it, I rearly enjoyed the soft ride and roof up and down at 20mph...

would want 4 seats so boxters and the like no option, Anyone suggest a good buy, perhaps golf R cab ?

Golf R cabriolet is horrible as are all modern golf cabs imo. They are just normal golfs with the top chopped off, not designed from scratch as proper cabs and the lines are all wrong

I had a golf cab loaner and a truly awful car, boot space was a joke as was scuttle shake, I would be going eos or BMW 3 or 4 series or the new A3

We've got a golf cab and had nothing but grief, so that's why it's getting swapped on September 1st.

For me an A5 Audi if we were having another cab.

It might be a different animal mate, we've got a GT with lux pack, xenons and to date it's had a new roof, new front bumper, two new wheels. We call it the Friday afternoon car as my 35 was faultless.

Just got a golf r conv  - prices have fallen a lot so more interesting I thought...esp vs new s3 conv at £40k plus and s5 too big for my garage!  Reliability fine so far but only a few months in.  No conv can stand up to full metal in this class IMO so you accept that so overall I'm pretty happy so far on the performance/handling/conv thing.  I'm Putting 18 wheels vs standard 19s then will see what else will help eg ARBs and will prob do a sport cat/downpipe for more noise...Would be interested in any other owner opinions as seem pretty scarce on the forums.  Cue the ladyboy/wag abuse.

yes Stefano, prices hv fallen alot.

deal ive been offered

my jan 12 plate dsg ED35 - 22k miles, fsh and alot of options ACC dynaudio glendales etc etc

the deal is my car plus £5.5k

The R is
march 2014 plate - 2998 miles , rns510 etc
9 months tax
NEW build price on vw calculator £38500

so for 3 months old and 3k miles the deal is from what I can tell
ed35 value in my eyes 21k
plus 5.5k total £26.5k

alot of car for the money, that's why im very tempted.... competition from Audi / BMW seems to tally up to alot more money....
