What do you mean gone?  You do know most of the time you just need to take it out give it a clean with an APC or brake cleaner and it sorts out most problems 9 times out of 10

Should be covered if its less than three years old. Unless it was damaged rather than just failed.

i know very little about these things. put into dealer yesterday and got phonecall at work saying 187 bucks. warranty runs out in 3 days.  i take it warranty is from when car is registered? (3rd Aug 2011)

should these parts fail after 22000 miles?

thanks for expert advice as usual

Sounds definetly like a warranty issue as its still under warranty, unless of course it was damaged by a rock or something else, and as you said 22k is not alot.

Try get it free under warranty, if not, dont pay for any work yet. Take the sensor and and fully clean it, let it dry and put it back in....more than likely will fix it. They get loads of crap on them and always throw faults codes
