cant work it out
« on: 27 July 2014, 14:31 »
I don't usually get into traffic jams but on friday i did (dont normally take the golf out on long journeys) and as i was sat there i kept my eye on the temperature gauge after 2 minutes of sitting there it started to creep up so i but on my heater on warm and on full blast and it seemed to go down quickly but then it didn't rise back up for a very long time could this be the thermostat messing around?

As long as your fan is coming in I wouldn't be over concerned. It's been exceptionally hot lately, so will run hot as soon as you're stationary. Be more concerned if the fan didn't come in.

Your fan should carry on running when you turn the car off when it's really hot. You'd hear that.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.

Short out the sensor on the rad. That should bring on the fan.
