hi guys can anyone give me some advice as to what is wrong?

CAT could have broken down or even be missing, Lambda sensor failed + a bunch of other things which could add to it.
Stick it on a code reader to see what that throws up first.
Is it smoking/using oil/losing water?

cat is still on there, have changed the lambda sensor for known working one, as i have a cheap code reader and came up with code 0537, and still same code came up after the change and erasing the code?

I would start by checking the sensor cables back to the loom, then you need to work through the lists for upper and lower (vag com for better direction)
