2E/ABA/ADY/AGG comparisons?
« on: 19 July 2014, 23:26 »
Before i spend my hard earned cash on engine gaskets this coming week, do the above engine codes share the same gaskets? I'm asking because i cant find all the gaskets i need in one place for the AGG in particular, online such as GSF & ECP. They mostly stock the 2E or ADY, but i have an AGG..

I'll be going for all the usual ones, rocker, head, inlet/outlet, sump etc

Cheers..

ADY/AGG are the same when it comes to service parts, 2E has some similarities but best to avoid if you don't know.
VW options might throw you though, like AC or non AC also ECP/GSF list incorrect parts for many VW's.
Shameless plug but speak to Boney of OEM and more if your buying online.

Cheers, i thought as much to be honest. I did wonder if the earlier 90's engine's were all the same..

I'll keep an eye out for the AGG one's to be safe. I did have a look at Boney's site, but he's off on hol's for another week. Unless he can ship next day once he returns to work?

Just look forward to tearing down my engine

ADY has a different comp ratio to AGG but all the other bits are the same, VW did vary the injection system between Bosch and Hitachi but both my ADY's and my current AGG use the Hitachi.
The 2E has an ISV and some different sensors and vac hoses etc, its more like the old MK2 Engine.

Join this site and have a look at the parts lists, you cant go wrong
