Is my engine an interference or a non-interference type?

I've got a Golf GTI 1.8 8v MKII Engine Code PB and was wondering if the engine is an interference or non-interference type? I did some searches and it seemed to say that all 8v engines are non-interference types.
Thanks

8v's are non-interference, but I wouldn't use it as a reason to leave changing your belt at long intervals

Thanks. I'm in the process of trying to change it but I thought I'd check to see if valves were going to hit pistons if things went a little stray.

Turn it over by hand before you start it up

It depends on the head, my head managed to impact and bend two valves.
