VW Servicing Price Match till 30th September

Heads up for anyone out there with a service coming up.
 
My GTI needs a major service and VW are doing a 'promotion' of £299 including VAT (159 for Minor) and they will also do a price match with any indy dealer within 5 mile radius and like-for-like service (i.e. only VW genuine parts used). Well I emailed a local VW indy specialist who quoted me £225, which I forwarded to the local VW authorized dealer. And result! They accepted to do a price match.

Taking the car in next Wednesday so will update about the outcome (fingers crossed no extra work needed as MOT passed through in Jan!).

Picked up the car last week and running very smoothly. No issues with the dealer and I even threw in a cheeky question asking them to check if they can hear the chain slacking (infamous timing chain issues....) without charging me for a diagnosis. They confirmed everything is in order and also wrote it down in the 'service notes' that I had asked this question and had provided me with an answer.

Almost full marks to the dealer, as the 'washed and vacuumed' part of the service was a major let down!

Sounds like decent service 

I personally wouldn't let a dealer within 50 feet of my car with a dirty rag and a vacuum.

Mine's on an annual service regime and is going for its fifth birthday service on Thursday. I paid £399 for this one and next year's including the two MOTs which I really didn't think as bad for 2 services and 2 MOTs. They always look after the car, give me a courtesy car for more than just a day (cos I can't usually pick it up the following day), usually give me something better than your bog standard Polo, are always unfailingly polite and ring me before they do anything and after its ready.
They even got me a substantial goodwill payment the other week when the manifold seals needed doing. I bought this one from them and they know I am almost certain to go back to them if I buy another VW. Not rocket science is it to keep a customer happy?
Their name? Haysleden of Doncaster. Top people all round in my experience.

Audi are doing the same deal for £299.
Just had my TT done under the deal
