I love the all round ability of it, the ride comfort (with ACC), the gearbox, the mid-range torque of the engine, the lovely steering... I love the gadgets too, reversing cam, keyless go, nav, media system.
The thing I love the most is how it integrates so well in to my life by being a very comfotable GT type car one minute, then by sticking it in Sport mode it turns into an agile B-Road stormer.
Dislikes: Tyres, I find that it spins up and traction control cuts in when full throttle, straight road in 2nd/3rd gear on anything less than the perfect surface, worse when exiting a bend (non-PP car), and getting the power down in the wet out of a turn is very tricky. I will be changing to a different tyre as soon as these are worn.
I find that after the stop/start system has 're-started,' it holds on to the brakes a little longer than I would like (Auto-Hold always deactivated in my DSG car as I like the 'creep') so setting off becomes a bit jerky sometimes. This is inconsistent, sometimes it holds, sometimes it doesn't.
The starter motor noise isn't very evocative and sounds a bit cheap... I know it requires to start quickly due to the stop/start but my brother-in-law has an M135i and it's much nicer.
Cosmetically, I love it. I love my 3-door TR car, and it's the right combo for me. The only thing I DON'T like is the standard 18" Austin wheels. I love the design overall, but I really don't like the black inners. Maybe it's just my detailing side, but they never look clean enough (coated from new with a ceramic sealant) and even after being very careful, they're already starting to look a little dull from the soft brushes I'm using to clean. I'd much rather have all silver wheels.
Overall, it's a great ownership package and I'm really pleased with it after 4500 miles.
