expensive but milltek are a pretty decent performance exhaust , for noise you can fit a tdi centre section which has no silencer and just a matter of cutting of the standard backbox and clamp on a sports box

You're not going to get anything regarding performance so go for a cheaper, maybe 2nd hand exhaust. Save your pennies for other stuffs

If you look around the forums you'll find someone stripping a gti that'll have an exhaust on. I got my milltek second hand a year or so ago for about £100.

As Chris has said its all down to what you want, if I were you I would wait until the current one needs replacing before you do anything anyway, and then it all comes down to preference. Your starting with a car that is very hard to get a few extra horses out of anyway so just replace as and when things go wrong with the original parts because itll cost you the same / more for oem replacements than uprated parts
ARZ K03s, Oettinger Side Skirts, R32 front, Carbon stage 2, Forge 007p (yellow spring), Forge Actuator (yellow spring), Pipercross panel filter with DSG parts, N249 and N112 deleted, SAI deleted, Carbon canister deleted, Rear wiper deleted, Long Life turbo back custom exhaust with 200 cell sports cat, VR6/G60 clutch kit, Creation Motorsport TIP, Catch can, 'Wellycooler', K04 charge pipe, S3 ported inlet manifold - looks pretty standard on the outside though :)
