Golf head light question
« on: 28 June 2014, 20:05 »
Hi guys.  I have a mk3 golf basic model. Year 95 The head lights had broken mounts. I got given a pair of head lights off another golf but they off a higher spec one the head lights are h1  my old ones are h4.   Is it ok to use the higher spec head lights on the lower spec head lights.

If any one knows can you reply please

Thanks dan

Yes but you need to do this in order to get them to work properly:

in your fusebox in order to get them to work properly. If you dont, you will have either half-light or high beam. So get some cable to connect where the red marks are.

Really hard to try and explain in english, but i hope i made some sense.

Nope is the fusebox under (well i honestly dont know which side UK have them  :embarrassed:) but under your steering wheel. Where all other fuses are :)

Like this:

Can't remember which numbers, all i remeber it was in "fuse" 10. Its a empty spot, am sure it will look like the picture i first posted. If not take a picture for me of yours.

I made the "bridge" with 2 of these and a cable:

But if your insecure, take a picture and show me and i'll show you exactly :)

Hi snozan.  Spad connector and wire.  Or could I take the fuse/relay out of a higher spec golf ?

Thanks

I honestly dont know. I used spad connectors and a cable on my -93 when i upgraded to later versions of headlight with double H1 :)

Can go down and check how it look in mine tomorrow and post a pic. Have a -96 so mine is the double H1 stock.
