Some lovely person has backed into my Pearl Grey 16v GTI and pushed in the grill. I've tracked down a Storm Grey grill on fleabay and am thinking about buying it to replace.

Would I notice a difference in the colours when fitted? From looking at the 2 side by side online they look identical but can't be due to different colour codes?!!

Any advice from experience? Cheers.

LA7U have some  aluminum flakes for some pearl effect which i believe LK7Y dosen't have and are without effect. Also LK7Y seem to be lighter then LA7U

You need LA7U paint?

Hi snozan, thanks for the info. I could do with some LA7U paint as it looks like I'll have to get the grill I do buy resprayed. Might get the bumpers and wing mirror covers done at the same time as all have small scrapes.

Havn't got much though, i use to have a MK3 with the paint code LA7U. And used the paint to cover up rust spots with a paint brush. Can look it up tomorrow, if you want it you can have it :)

The difference is most definitely noticeable.  I had a storm grey 16v and bought a colour coded boot spoiler which was advertised as been storm grey but turned out to be pearl grey and looked cack in the wrong shade and never got fitted.
