time for a re-dress
« on: 07 September 2005, 19:46 »
well after seeing sooo many nicey mk4's (alias lard arse) at e38,  and then hobbling on my crutches back to mine, i thought 'i wonder if theres the worst condition mk4 award......', i drove there with zero back brake pads, and bits were falling of it when i left!! not to mention all the beer/grass/weed etc that found its way in over the weekend.... so yesterday i decided as i seem to be having no luck finding a half decent 2nd car im gonna throw a bit at the mk4 as i havent done anything style wise in 2 1/2 years!! and 2 1/2 years ago it was 17"/18" wheels, grill badge, usa rear badge and a different rear wiper... well thats all i did on me budget along with some very cheap lowering springs!!,

so i have ordered,

some of them replacement bumper grills with the tiny dot fog lamps..
badgeless front grill
cant decide which lights to go for, think i need to play on that virtual site again..
i bought some atc 17" split rims today as i fancied a change from the 5 spoke fox evo 1s i have put them on today, some peeps will like some peeps wont, they make it look higher for some reason even though its the same size rim (17x8"), but there going to go with what im gonna do....
i changed me rear pads today as me leg felt ok ish.... killing now like.....
so tomorrow im removing all the 'golf' and me 'usa rabbit anni badge' and me grill badge, ive got a selection of rubber blanking grommets so the rear wash/wipe assembly is coming out from the rear screen too. there things i can do me self, tomorrow,
next coilovers as she needs dropping another 2" easy for these 17"s to look the way i want them, its already lowered 40mm from stock oil rig height!! anti rool bar or new drop links too.. so im on the case ordering some of these tonight hopefully....
bumper/body bump strips removed, remote boot release fitted, bootlid de handled and de badged,
euro spec rear lights and 20mm wheel spacers to bring me new bling further out.

off to me mates body shop tomorrow to get it booked in for paint.. not bothering with exhaust etc going for the smoothy bum look....

so it looked like this earlier today....

its now in the same state (with new pads on the back!! lol ) it came back from e38 still full of crap but it now has its new split rims on... (big pic sorry!!) excuse the height as well never used to look that high!!

so i apart from e38 having a blinding array of cars to blow your mind, a sweet setting to get pi55ed and talk cod shate till the silly hours, great people, its kicked my arse to to putting a few bits i saw rolled together and try it on the much neglected mk4..... wether it works, i dunno still a slow golf, but when every bodies looking at it cause it looks good, does it really need to move that quick???

likin' your thinking gaz, so had a play with dubmodder/photoshop (dubmodder has no option to lose the rubbing strips) wheels arent a perfect match but close enough, added colour coded mirrors and stubby arial too, the smoked e-code (anni style xenons) seemed to fit the best

and you might not like this idea.. but i think it looks the danglies.. black centres..

well smart.
