Technology - Arrrgh

Hi all
Bought new 3 door Mk7 in Tornado Red.
I'm late 50's and this is my 7th GTI, only one I didn't have was a Mk1.
Perhaps it's my age but my opinion is that the car doesn't need some of the technology it now has, particularly the electronic handbrake, which I really don't like but, I suppose I'll get used to it.

Got great deal on the car £3500 off list price (pre registered) and £13k for my Mk6 so really happy with changeover.
Despite buying car from main dealer PDI wasn't done correctly, service book wasn't stamped and I had to explain to them that the silver parts in the glove box were the tops for GTI key fobs which they are supposed to change at PDI.
They then tried to sell me a service plan and weren't pleased when I asked them why my car should come to them when they couldn't get the PDI correct. Car will go to garage I have used for 20 years who I can trust.
Lastly only defect I can find is on two of the wheels where there are stains under the clear lacquer which is unbroken. They look like water stains and there are about 20 of them grouped together.
Apart from that taking it easy at present and 'running' the car in.

Hi,

Sounds like quite an experience you've had with the garage, are they gonna sort out the wheels?

Hopefully the car will make up for any problems with the service you've had, do you have any pics of it?

I can't understand what's wrong with a mechanical handbrake either!

Only discovered the wheel defect last night so will speak to the garage tomorrow.
Should have added in the story that the garage told me they didn't have a screwdriver small enough to fit the screws for the key fob changeover which they handed back to me and suggested I try another garage.
Sales department were super, not so service department.
Will upload pics of the defect asap.
