Big thanks to Topher!
« on: 09 June 2014, 14:14 »
This is what these forums are all about!

I d just like to say a big thanks to Topher, who spared me some time at the weekend and did some VCDS tweaking on my GTI.

As well as scanning the car for any errors (which there wasn't thankfully), I now have:

2. Alarm chirp when locking doors - would nice to be a bit louder
3. Auto Closing Windows via Rain Light Sensor
4. Change KPH to Miles
5. Have a large digital MPH in the MFD
6. Front fogs to act as corning lights

Couldn't do :

1. dial staging – Dials spinning on start up
2. Change boot release on remote, via remote button so it bypasses secondary latch (still would like this so I can do the strong struct, boot open mod.

Certainly wasn't a lack of knowledge. I believe my car software just wasn't able to allow it.

Anyway, great bloke and very greatful here.

Very knowledgeable and helpful!

Thanks buddy.

Regards,

Mart

I had to turn my fogs off for cornering, so many people would say "one of your lights are out" when i was parked  up with the wheel slightly turned.

And then when i saw a car with coming toward me, it just looked a bit sh!t how it fades in and out so i disabled it.

Hmmm...? That's odd. I've never heard of them coming on when you were parked up. Nor activating at speed. Thought they were for very slow speed cornering only?

Guess I'll turn them off again if they don't work out.

We'll see lol.

Mart
