noob question about cold air intakes
« on: 08 June 2014, 09:24 »
Hey guys, I have a mk7 gti with a tuning box. Giving 280bhp. I have been given a pipercross universal cold air intake which I fitted yesterday. The car runs fine but I can now hear the turbo spool and what sounds like bov if I let off under acceleration.  Is this normal and will this damage the turbo in any way?

that's normal for an open cone type filter, it'll sound like darth vader is stuck under your bonnet

Lol yeah that's about right. So I'm guessing it's completely safe. Don't wanna do any damage. It does sound pretty awesome though!
