Another finance question
« on: 04 June 2014, 15:11 »
I know theres other finance leasing questions but would like to ask specifically about my case....

So I'm paying salary sacrifice around £560 a month plus an additional £120-130ish BIK via leasedrive (this includes £120 a month personal insurance!!)

I feel a personal lease or finance would be better for me financially as I would then switch to car allowance (circa £200 after tax) with the option to give the car back after the loan period (not pay the final settlement and get a new car)

So after looking at carwow I am seeing deals with 19" santiagos on a GTD with keyless coming out at £25K with just over £2.4K discount.

Would like to know what sort of monthly payments people make and the deposit including extra for maintenance?

Have you had a play with the VW finance calc? If you get the amount of discount from CarWow or DTD, add it to any deposit from you - and then use this as the deposit on the calc, you can play with the figures/term length/miles.

You can also copy the url for the calc and save it so you can easily go back to it to compare etc (it remembers your spec).

OK thanks, so roughly £385 per month on 36 months and 10K a year mileage, minus my allowance I would be paying next to nothing compared to what I'm paying now. Probably need to add £15-20 a month for maintenance but still a lot less.

got me thinking now....

yeah, you're supposed to get something back through tax savings on salary sacrifice, but TBH I don't think we see much of a saving. Plus the insurance with Aviva placed the GTD in band 30 which puts it at £1200 a year, when checking privately I get quotes of around £350-450 a year on band 26 at most.
