So..... I got this quote, good or keep looking?
« on: 04 June 2014, 08:46 »
Hey all,

So I got my R32 but the front bumper has a major ammount of stone chips and i mean major, along with the front of the wings and bonnet.

So i decided I wanted a front end respray to put it right.

I have been quoted, £400 for the work and it will take 2 days, he even said he will do the lock for me in the back boot as it is showing signs of corrosion and then fully mop the car once it is all finished.

I have a week off in July so considdering booking it in then, good price or keep looking?

Have you seen examples of their work? It sounds very cheap to do that amount of work properly to me.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.

So all the prep for the bonnet and both front wings. Then respray and lacquer. As well as fix the lock.

Sounds too cheap for me. Is it in Bridgend, or some back street up the Rhondda?

Are they reputable, seen their previous work.

Just sounds like price for a quick blow over.

Well, you'll take the risk with cash only as there's no comeback if they do a sh!t job.

But, if your nephew works there and can vouch for them being reputable, then why not.

After my cheap front end respray at the end of last year I'll never get paint done on the cheap again. There are now more stone chips on it than there were before it was done.
