Idle high

Anyone know why my GTI idles at around 1200rpm when fully warmed up?
When just started it idles (bit jumpy) at around 500.
Not too bothered at the moment although it does munch the fuel a bit in traffic......

Could be your thermotime switch / coldstart valve. How long does it idle at 500 rpm for when it is cold?

Idles at around 500 for only a few minutes. Thats nothing to be concerned about.
Thermotime switch is working fine I think.
Thanks

Yeah have a good look round all those vaccuum lines, make sure none have perished, split etc.
