Which alloys look nice on MK5?
« on: 02 June 2014, 20:12 »
I need inner alloy refurb or.. im considering getting some brand new alloys? What do you recommend? My current alloys are in fantastic condition apart from the fact they need inner repair - not a scratch on 3 of them..! But on the other hand I could get some nice new ones? Which look good?? I got a black MK5 .

Thanks

Alloy wheels and the colour choice of them is purely personal preference. You need to have a look through the various project threads (both on this forum and others) and make up your own mind.

There's many commonly used alloy brands out there, a little Google searching will reveal all the eye candy you require to answer this question.

It all starts with a set of alloys...

If you're going for Monza's, they need to be the shadow ones. I've not seen many people doing mk7 GTI alloys yet, or ED35 (similar to BBS SR) alloys.

Golf R20 alloys are also nice...

+1 to above. My girlfriend has borrowed my old Monza's while she has her Monza Shadows refreshed and the difference it makes to the look of the car is staggering, it's had to describe but it changes the whole look of the car.

Cyprus.  Last time i asked, a garage quoted 300 euro to refurbish but given they don't really specialize in refurbishing I wasn't in any mood to dispense with my hard earned ones
