Bosh 02 Sensors
« on: 02 June 2014, 12:43 »
Hi. I had my engine management light come on the other day and I've read the codes. They've come out as:

17522 - Oxygen Sensor; B1 S2 Internal Resistance Too High

17545 - Fuel Trim: Bank 1 (Add): System Too Rich

17584 - Bank 1: O2 (Lambda) Correction Behind Catalyst: Control Limit Reached

17705 - Pressure Drop Between Turbo and Throttle Valve
(I know this last one isn't related to the above three)

From reading these codes I have gathered that my Post Cat O2 Sensor is probably the most likely cause of this (Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong) So I rung up my trusted garage to find out how much it would be to fit the part. The guy that worked their informed me that it would be £45 to fit but he recommended me only to get the Bosh part. He said that he had a MK4 Golf Turbo which had the same problem and that he put 3 after market sensors and they all eventually turned the MIL back on. He said he found out that Golfs would only accept either the Bosh part or the VW part (Which is most likely Bosh anyway)

Does anyone know if this is right or not?
Euro Car Parts want £71.94 for the Bosh Part
Trade Price Specialists want £103.42 and VW want £148.19 but neither of these two know what brand the O2 Sensor is.

Any help would be great on this
