Lowering on DDC/ACC

Hi,

I have ACC or DDC as some call it, and want to know if it's safe to put lowering springs on, as these shocks look complicated, and I wouldn't want to damage them down the road for reduced arch gap!

Whats the softest lowering spring there is? Eibach pro kit? Only looking for a slight drop something like the golf R stock or GTI stock, as the gtd for me rides pretty high.

I was thinking since the 3 dr GTD weighs the same as a GTI 5dr maybe some stock springs off a GTI that had DDC? or are they the same part number... sounds like a trip to vw

Any help appreciated!

Yup!
I love it, as I have super hard Bridgestone S001's so I can feel everything even little cracks in the road with sport mode,
just want the car to sit a tiny bit lower :( but don't want to ruin the shocks as they probably cost a fortune and mess with the systems calibration etc

Yes ACC also a must with 19" wheels and very low profile tyres.  Makes the ride a bit more forgiving.

I'm pretty sure you can use lowering springs with ACC.  People on here have done it but I can't remember who.

Been doing lots of research into this, found some VW official springs, they go by the name of Driver Gear springs and are made by eibach for volkswagens, along with the VWR springs which are also eibach.

drops are:

VWR: 20mm
DG: 10mm

Both great springs, I don't know which ones I should try!

Leaning to the VWR springs, as apparently they have been sold to 1000 DDC/ACC customers and they have been developed and tested to be fine with the DDC/ACC system, this makes me feel better!

I have VWR lowered springs on my GTI, with ACC...and it's great.
Lower, firmer - but not too firm, and the 3 modes are still noticable in their effect.
Recommended.

That drop looks great!, your tyres seem slightly stretched or are they of a lower profile? do you have any other pics? how much firmer do you reckon these springs are to stock? some say 10% some say 15%
