Quick easy exhaust bodge.
« on: 31 May 2014, 20:10 »
Rear hanger rusted off and looks like it's been welded at least once before!

Exhaust itself in good nick and therefore I resented buying a new backbox as I didn't want to add any joins to the system and want a stainless thing anyway.

So take a 50p 45mm exhaust clamp and a bit of studding that had some old imperial thread and some welding rod:

So easy I didn't even move the car let alone jack it up!

Just gonna get two imperial nuts and stick them on the end of the thread so it can't pull through.

Apply to any car I guess just thought I'd share the idea!

Where all my moneys went.

The new welding is... cable ties.

Worked a treat on my old A4. The back box of that probably weighs as much as a Mk4.

I did stick cable tie on it when it first snapped as seen in pics but MOT testers don't like it.
