Now then all,

Noticed recently that the first time you brake after changing direction, you get a klunk from the rear brakes. Sounds like one/some of the pads are moving in the caliper on the change of direction.

Anyone else got this?

It's a PP model so they are in essence 'R' brakes.

Yes, it does in my PP too. Especially when humidity is high. It is something the mk6 do too. The rear brake pads are moving the other way and it makes the noise. They are not bolted into their carriers, so the have a little room to play. It's common, it isn't unsafe. Just have fun driving it

I had the same issue with my 2013 A4 Avant Black Edition be it the front brakes were clunking when reversing (car covered only 3,000 miles).... Took it into Audi they changed the brake pads and applied some "special" grease which did cure the problem for a short while until the problem resurfaced. Took it back to Audi again and they told me I was washing the wheels incorrectly which was in turn washing the grease away ......all in it went back about 4 times before I lost patience and attempted to live with the problem!!

However, this problem on top of several other major problems were the final straw and so I got shut of it  looking at purchasing a BMW 335d touring now
