MK7 = not rain friendly?!
« on: 28 May 2014, 19:21 »
Does anyone else suffer with this?....

The last few days it's been peeing it down none stop. Anyhow, for work I have to put my window down to swipe my pass to get onto the premises. Every time on the last 3 occasions I've got soaked when I've put the window down, it comes straight into the cabin, onto the controls and switches etc. blummin annoying!

It's not just limited to the windows though, again since the none stop rain I've found that when I open the doors the cabin once again gets a soaking, particularly the rear doors. I know this happens to all cars but it just seems to happen excessively on the Golf.

Think I've found my first annoyance :(

Never with the doors but I get it with the windows, just assumed it was coming off the roof. I know the leons have dodgy door seals tho

Found this with the drivers door today :(

The rain/moisture seeps past the upper door seal and then sits against the inner frame paint.  Had a few drops of water dropping in with the door closed.  Can quite easily see it when the door is open as the "felty" seal is wet with water.

Think I will live with it though, cos no doubt a dealer will replace the seals and then it wont fit flush or such like.

Definately done it since the mk5, it's probaby because there are no channels in the roof.

It's better on my estate... roof bars guides water flow a bit, so most goes down well in front and behind of doors.....

Drove me mad on my mk6, seems even worse on my mk7 ! It's one of the only things I don't like about the car.
