I take it the car hadn't been moved after being jacked up? Makes the wheels look tiny! ;D  Don't look too bad though if thats what you like.  :)

Haha....yep the car hadnt been moved as the handbrake was still on.........Am just trying to save the sparks of tar as it's coming to that time of the year when the road workers start to tar the roads and lay the chuckies

Tar spots are never a good look! Especially on white!

I'm in the minority on here regarding mudflaps, but I like them a lot - if they had been available when I ordered my GTI I would have specced them!

Not for me, they spoil the lines of the car totally. And are of little actual benefit when it comes to doing the job they're intended for. Unless you're living down a dirt track, I see no reason for them. Just my opinion!

How long did it take you to fit them? Did you remove the wheels?

I've seen a couple of GTDs with mudflaps and they just don't look right.

Each to their own.
Mk7 GTI. DBP, DCC, Winter pack. Mine since new, July 2013.
GTI no. 4. Golf no. 5.  VW no. 7.

Yep the wheels came off, and while they were off took the chance to give them a good clean and wax.
In total wheels off and cleaned and fit flaps I would say it took me around 2 1/2 hrs

I quite like the mudflaps, and will probably suit my black car - still looking for the cheapest option though as I think they're way overpriced - cheapest I've seen for genuine parts is about £90 on fleabay...
