Am I being fobbed off by my dealer?

So, my GTD was supplied with a white collar lightning adapter for the MDI port. No surprise, my iPod wouldn't connect which I knew it wouldn't after reading everything on here and realising it was the green collar cable I needed.

I've been in contact with my supplying dealer (which isn't my most local dealer) and they are adiment that the white collar cable is the one I need. They have asked that I go to my local VW dealer, ask them whether it is the green collar lead that I need and get them to try one in my car and report back.

Feel like I'm being fobbed off here and doing all the legwork for something which isn't my fault, or am I missing something?!

Which ipod have you got? The green collar works with iPhone 5, so it's required for the ipod 5?

My car came with both white and green collar's in the glove box, so seems strange they didn't include the newer green collar cable for you... 

I wonder if you could check with VW customer service which cable(s) you should have got with the car.

I have a 7th gen iPod with a lightning adapter socket and I have an iphone 5S. The white cable defo doesn't work. According to my supplying dealer they have only ever supplied the mk7 with a white collar cable... Think I'm gonna get the part no for the green collar and give em a call back tomorrow, I haven't the time to go running to my local dealer when I feel it should be them checking not me!

Sorry, was talking rubbish about the white collar - I have a green and blue. Just went to check and took a pic for you for part numbers:

Btw, I'm guessing the part no is the top number on the green side of the cable ending with a H?

The white collar lead is for the Mk6 Golf.

All sorted now. My supplying dealer turned out to be extremely helpful.
