Sticky marks from protective sheets - how to remove?

Hi, When I picked up my new mk7 GTD 2 weeks ago, I asked the dealer not to clean it as I'd have a go at detailing it myself.

I've now done this but there are a couple of sticky marks, I guess left over from where the protective sheetings were.

Can anyone suggest something to remove these that won't damage the new paint work?

Any tar and bug remover such as the one above or Tardis should shift it.

kc99 - I'd highly recommend using an iron fallout remover such as Auto Finesse Iron Out before using a tar and glue remover. Spray on, leave for a bit, power wash off. You might risk adding a considerable amount of swirl marks if you don't.

The amount of contamination on the paintwork is quite incredible... even on a new car! I'll upload some pictures a bit later on.

Out of interest, I took my two week old car to a VW body shop today, as I've discoverd speckles on the rear bumper that won't budge. The car's going back in soon to have this sorted (and also one of the black exterior trims on the rear screen that's very loose) - I'm told this was 'fallout' occuring in transit from the factory to the dealer, probably when the car passed somewhere having electrical work done

Does this mean I'll have to park my car a mile up the road when I change a fuse my Mrs's hair dryer plug
