049G cam

Been stripping engine today and my cam has a 049G stamp. What is this cam? It's got the vw audi stamps along with Germany written on it. Any insight into what this cam is and what the lift ect is would be massively appreciated.
Thanks

From what I can understand its a cam from early golf gti's, 1.6 models. The G gring solid lift cam as it is also known. Have a look at this link for 'lift' details...

It's VW's mark, all cams have a mark on them but I'm quite sure this is a standard rating across many cams.
So as for lift etc just check a Haynes or Bentley manual, this will tell all

Actually removed the cam to send the head off and it's actually a TSR 202. They must have reprofiled it from the mk1 gti cam which the 049G is.
