Anyone know how tricky it is to remove the front badge? Does the grill have to come off?

I paid £36 for both. The grill badge was very easy. I removed the two retaining screws, then I gently lifted the grill whilst pulling towards me and it popped off.  There are quite a few clips along the bottom which would snap if too much force was used, so I think gentle persuasion is the key.   You then have access to the rear and it's quite obvious how the badge is fixed.  I used a small flathead screwdriver to help release the catches.  Take the opportunity to give the grill a thorough clean, then push the the red one on until you hear it click, and put it back together.

The rear one took a bit longer because there was quite a bit of adhesive left behind to remove. I used the floss method to get the silver ones off. Prior to removing I made myself a paper template which I clipped to the boot to ensure the red letters went in exactly the same place. Fortunately the red ones came mounted on a small clear sheet so the letters were attached in one go, opposed to individually.

I'm really pleased with how it looks.

Has anyone seen the red badges on a Carbon Grey car yet? Mine should arrive in July and at the moment I am not entirely convinced by them. The silver looks far more restrained - how easy do you think it would be to swap from red to silver? I can understand that VW might want to differentiate between the standard GTI and the PP equipped versions but surely the GTI markings on the brakes are enough and still fairly subtle.

I ordered a pair. front fitted. Back one on back order but you will get the idea. I missed out by 1 week to be factory fitted.

JB GTI that looks really smart, loads better than what I first expected. Quite looking forward to my red badges now. Thanks

I fitted the front one to mine (pure white) this week too. Back badge also on back order!
I think it looks great, really smart.

Looks good JB. I'm a big fan of the carbon grey. Joe, you'll be really pleased with how good the red looks against the pure white on the back. I was debating doing it right up until I started removing the silver ones. I'm so glad I did now.
