Alright guys, im unable to provide pictures as of yet but basically my Gti MK3 has been sat for three years and i have just gave it a good clean etc and came across rust,

I took my wheel arches off on the weekend and there is rust, obviously because them dreaded things collect moisture..

Whats the best way get rid of it, its kinda disheartened me because it the Anni and its only got 88k on it yet its rusted as f**k,

I have taken the door trim off too and there isnt any rust there, so thats good, how much are we looking for a rattle can or two in my colour, i know the codes etc.. Just a guideline price and best place to buy, whilst removing the trim i dmaged the plastics, mainly due to the rusted fixes so ill need to buy them aswell. Any ideas?

depends on the extent of the rust really mate, pics would be good

small surface rust you could get away with sanding and repainting, deep rust ideally needs cutting out, body work repaired then repainted

if the arches are rusted i would strongly advise checking the rear footwell and the sills if you have not already. as both are very prone to rust as well, but they are cheaper and easier to repair than bodywork

if you want new plastics, email the OEM and more guy he can get them. think he found some for someone the other day
