I got my new car last week and asked dealer to turn volume of 'soundaktor' to zero before I collected it, prefer to listen to genuine note of car, not artificial sound.
I think the sound actuator is brilliant. Everyone who's had a ride in my GTI comments on how great the engine note is, sounds like a V8 under hard acceleration. I don't think it sounds artificial at all. There's no way you'd even notice it was an actuator if no one told you. Let's face it, there's only so much you can do with 4 cylinders and I must admit the sound isn't great inside the cabin without it on. It's a shame that you can barely hear the exhaust pop from inside too. Sounds great from outside though
