16v isv wiring
« on: 04 May 2014, 11:39 »
My isv has stopped working causing my car to stall and not idle as it should. I have cleaned the isv but have no power going to it.
From what I'm led to believe the black/white wire should have 12v going to it when the ignition is on which mine does not have.
I have checked the fuses which are ok so I suspect a break in the wire. Also am I right in thinking it is not the isv controller as the white wire goes to it and the black/white wire comes straight from the fuse box?
Any help much appreciated.

The back of the Haynes manual has a wiring diagram for these systems. I would find out where I've other ends of the wires are meant to go then do a circuit test on them to see if there is any break with a particular wire.

Thanks, that's what I plan to do this wknd. I have also got my hands on a spare isv control module so will rule this out as being faulty at the same time.

For electrical or wiring related stuff your best off also posting on clubgti forum. Rubjonny resides there now and he is basically a mk2 robot. He can whisper to the wires and locate their source.
