Hi gents, company car being order shortly so the GTI is going to have to go.  Any ideas of price? I won't be taking the read LEDs off or removing the RNS initially but I'll see how it goes.  Spec is below:

2009 -35k miles, FVWSH
Relex Silver
5-Door
DSG
Leather
Cruise Control
R Rear LED lights
Black R Mirror covers
RNS510 version C
18" Monzas
Reversing camera, front & rear sensors

I think it's worth about £12k, but opinions are appreciated.

I would say at least 13k, we buy any car offered me 11500 for mine and I had more miles, then you could sell the extras separately
Gti, Candy White, 3door, DSG, Leather, Rear LEDs, Bluefin, Milltek, vwr intake, Focal speakers.

When you say "worth" do you mean what could you possibly get for it selling privately, or what is it's trade value? Mileage and I assume condition will help it, but it is still getting on for 5 years old. That has quite a bearing on true values. I'd see it being closer to £10k in reality.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.

This will be private sale.

£10k? I know I asked for opinions but I think that's far too low, there are MK5s going for that. The closest in spec and age to mine is going for £13,750. Realistically I reckon I'd get £11,500(ish)

Thanks all.

I'd try advertising for £13k and see how you get on.

In a private sale, I'd expect, even at a quick glance, a car of that type, mileage and spec to far exceed £12k.

There are many free sources to use as a yardstick as to how much your car might be worth.

Here's my tried and tested method and it usually is 'on the money' (has been in my experience anyway)...

Free Used car valuations for Trade, PX, Private and Retail can be had on the following websites:

Wisebuyers UK

What Car Used Car Valuations

Parkers Price Guide Used Valuations

Glass Used Car Valuations

What I do is get a valuation for private, PX and/ or retail price off each one and note the valuation down from each site. Total them and divide by 4 to get the avergae across the 4 valuation sites... Longwinded like me but accessible 24 hours per day, free and legal.

Remember, that's just a suggestion and it's only a guide!

Another free source is this Ford PX pricing link:
https://www.capconnect.co.uk/ConsumerValues/Ford.aspx?CH=PWRTZ

Also, if you sign into Autotrader and start the process off as if you are going to sell your car with them, the website, on receipt of your registration number, will suggest a price for you to advertise the car at, based on other vehicles for sale on AT.

Hope this assists someone...

Cheers

This is what I have done when selling a car. It gets your right on the money. Work this out then advertise your car at a couple of % more. When someone is buying a car they always have to haggle. So make sure they are 'twisting your arm, but since you like them you'll let it go' etc. etc. You get your price, customer gets a deal. Everyone is happy.
