Best way to repair these wheels?
« on: 28 April 2014, 18:01 »
I was thinking something like this, any better suggestions?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ETECH-E-TECH-ALLOY-WHEEL-PROFESSIONAL-REFURBISHMENT-SCRATCH-REPAIR-KIT-BLACK-/230791689184?pt=UK_Car_Accessories_Car_Care_Cleaning&hash=item35bc41b3e0

Most of the damage is mild, a few of the bits are maybe 3mm or so deep, I'm guessing the filler putty will fill it in nicely and once smoothed and painted it'll be hard to spot the damage?

Seek help from a proper refurb company, would be better in the long run

Chemical metal is good to fill in Those nasty curb marks.
As for spraying take your time with spraying primer/colour/lacquer. remember thin coats leave 15minutes between each coat, I found 3-6 coats are good (depending on how thin your coats are, thinner the better) Also between your primer to your colour to your lacquer I would leave 3-7 days for them to really harden.
If you want to speed up the process use a heat gun!
Or your girlfriends hair dryer!

Hope this small advice helps, keep me posted :)
