Part number help

Can anyone help me out with a part number please.
 
The part required is the little silver insert on the slider switch which moves the front aircon vents (up/down left/right).  It dropped of whilst I was cleaning the interior today (a bit too vigorously) and I can't for the life of me find it.

Hi booth you will probably need the hole vent I had all of mine replaced on my mk5 when I had it they kept snapping not cheap

Yeah I can only find the vent number at the min which is 5K0 819 704 K

One for £24.50 on ebay I just found but the silver insert must be somewhere if it definitely dropped off while you were cleaning?

Your cars still under warranty? Couple of people on mk6 forum had vents replaced for their inserts falling off

Cheers mate, appreciate the help.  It is under warranty but I was hoping to get just the silver bit from TPS if it was available and cheap-ish and avoid the dealer messing about with it.  If it has to be the whole vent then I'll go the warranty route.

Yeah it was there this morning prior to cleaning, I'll be damned if I can find it.  I've searched every bit of the car and driveway.  Checked all my cleaning cloths and had the contents of the hoover out, but no joy.  I expect it'll turn up just after I've had it replaced

Ta charlie, they shouldn't just fall out like that.  I'll leave it a few days, see if it turns up, if not then off to the dealer.  We've had a lot of magpies in the front garden lately, it's probably gracing one of their nests by now.

My vacuum took these silver inserts clean out.
They are just slid on with nothing securing them.
The silver part is definitely part of the whole vent and can't be bought separately by the looks of it.
Maybe you could adapt this

Yeah, the vacuum and attachments were first thing I checked.  The missing bit hasn't turned up, there's a chance it could've actually gone into the vent.

Thanks for the link.   I could fashion something from those but it would bother me knowing it's not oem    As it's under warranty, I'll just get the whole unit replaced.
