Good to hear it arrived safe and sound and I'd think the white paint will be useful in 30+ heat!
I'm only 5'7 myself so the fact the car is a few mm lower than a mk6 makes a huge difference to car cleaning for me too! How do people manage to clean Tiguans?!!!

And yes, that groove - Grrrrrr!
I kept the 19" BBS from my last two GTI's and although I don't think they look as good on the mk7 as they did on the mk6 they don't have that hugely irritating groove which makes the Austins an absolute pig to clean.
Like you, I'm not sold on the styling of the Austins very much either but was prepared to 'live with them' if they'd have been much easier to clean. Alas not, I had exactly the same issues as you with dirt getting trapped in the groove and after two washes they came off.
I guess the idea of the groove is to make the wheel stronger?
I detest that wheel Groove too on my 19s, what a ridiculous thing.
And the Santi's have the same issue then? Do the GTD 18's have the groove too?
