Wire near oil filter
« on: 26 April 2014, 18:17 »
Just changed the oil only this time i managed to break out one of the wires when I got the oil filter out, There were 2 wires and 1 has come out the connection i think going to the sai, Cant see being able to rewire it as the wire its like a piece of hair thin but is this gunna cause problems ?
Where ive circle in red there are the 2 very thin wires in there, the plastic casing had been split on mine since i had the car it was a matter of time before it snagged really

time to remove sai pump ? or not

Isn't that the wire to the MAP sensor?
ARZ K03s, Oettinger Side Skirts, R32 front, Carbon stage 2, Forge 007p (yellow spring), Forge Actuator (yellow spring), Pipercross panel filter with DSG parts, N249 and N112 deleted, SAI deleted, Carbon canister deleted, Rear wiper deleted, Long Life turbo back custom exhaust with 200 cell sports cat, VR6/G60 clutch kit, Creation Motorsport TIP, Catch can, 'Wellycooler', K04 charge pipe, S3 ported inlet manifold - looks pretty standard on the outside though :)

Are you saying you have simply pulled the connection off or have the wires broken?

the wire has pulled out the connection which is inside the plastic sleeve so unless i hack away the plastic cant really tell if i can join it together - think im going to have to have a go at fixing it anyway

right got under the car again, what i thought was a connection block is just a plastic casing T join and the wire had just split clean in 2, unfortunately dont have any soldering gear so just spliced the wires and twisted them together put it back, ill have to do it again in future and solder it together for permanent fix.. Also these 2 wires go to a plug/ sensor could be the map sensor as mentioned ? Would be nice to know 100% what it goes to ;

Meanwhile, underneath what the F has happened here - Dom u did say pictures so i thought id double up

yea, only just changed the oil but yes did check this morning and it is on max, done that just before i fixed the wire
- when i jacked the drivers side up i heard like fluid gushing from somewhere ? i didnt know if it was just rain water of something collected up from last night of whether it is something to do with that leak
