anyone else notice the blue around the centre vent? Almost like it's had a replacement front bumper...

Yeah I noticed that, I just did a gold HPI check, only thing that came back was numberplate change but I am goign to go look at the car today so will take a massive look at it, im also going to take my vagcom to scan her, not told me him yet lol...

So far it seems he is genuine. I asked him how long he has had the car and and he said around 3-4 months and hes only selling it due to cost of running it.
The HPI shows change of ownership in Jan 2014 and last recorded mileage was 84k which under my understanding would of been when he MOTd it in Feb as its now on 87k.

The fact he has not serviced it suggests to me he cannot afford to run it.

The poor bugger I am seriousl going to go over this with a fine tooth combe.

If I buy it its going straight into euro performance for a full MASSIVE serivce and I will be changing everything accept the Chains, clutch & flywheel.

i'll tax it for a year and i might even pop into Prospeed for a custom catback, have the back passenger doors tinted then have it mopped and professionally detailed (including engine bay) get the leather professonally treated and leave it there, oh i'll also get R mats if it does not have any.

From that point onwards I will be as anal with my paintwork as I am with my 1.8t.

OK so went to veiw this black R32, the guy could not of been any nicer (but I suppose everyone is nice when they are selling something) there were a few things I spotted and this car clearly needs love. I.E the R32 pedals are missing, the mats are not the R ones and the engine cover is missing all stuff I don't mind replacing tbh.

I checked everything I could think of, the heated seats works, I did the fan check on the climatronic all ok, discs all round look less than a year old with the rears being grooved and the fronts having no dips or scoring & having what I spotted as Red stuff pads.

the paintwork needs a mop but no dents, no marks, just swirls in the laccer where you can clearly see washing up liquid and a cheap sponge from home bargins has been used.

That blue thing near the bottom vent was just blue piping to match the brake calipers which I pealed off easy.

I even scanned the car and the only error's that came up was the doors were open (which at the time they were lol) and an error around the Climatronic re-serc motion, you know that setting where you turn off all air from outside.

The aircon was freezing  and everything worked as it should.

The factory extra's where full leather and cruise control which I tested and works a treat.

The front tyres might need changing at the next MOT.

Then it was time for a test drive!!

O.........M......Actual G!!!! it handles better than any car I have driven to date, he took us to somewhere I could test it correctly, we hit a bend at around 60 (I will point out the speed limited was 70 as it was off the M4) anyway in any normal car even my GTI anything over 40 and you would prob feel the back give or lose control compeltely but OMG this car stuck to the corner like it was on rails. That 4wd system is amazing! I knew the drive would be different than my GTI but not expect this.

Then I tested the cruise control and it worked a treat. :)

So total outcome was I managed to get him to tax it and all in from the £6500 price he wanted I paid £5850!

on our way home we asked him to keep it insured until we got it home so my cuz drove the R32 home on his policy 3rd party. As i wouldn't be able to drive it as I just got the car I need to ensure I insure it, I know I could of just given the others guys name and say Im borrowing it over the weekend but didnt want to take the chance.

Quick picture at the stopoff at the services :)

The sound on this R32 is isane considdering its standard.
I stayed behind my cuz all the way home, he hit the crusie control and we stayed around 60-65 apart from the odd overtake etc.

When we pulled up the reading on my GTI was 38.7 MPG the reading on the R32 was 31.7!!!!! and that before a service!!

The car is now parked on my drive, I am going to go give it the clean of its life! then soon as I can get it booked into Euro performance im having the following done.
  • Oil & filter changed including sump plug and washer.
  • Cabin and air filter changed.
  • Gearbox oil changed.
  • Steering fluid changed.
  • Fuel filter changed.
  • AC regassed if needed but I don't think it does.
  • 3 Page inspection checklist.
  • Brake/Hydraulic fluid changed.
  • Heldex oil & filter changed.
  • All 6 Spark plugs replaced.
  • And VW R32 software update.

All this will more than likely cost me around £500ish but I had 8k for a car im getting this perfect I might even have the clutch changed as well if it needs it.

Plan then is to have the wheels refurbished and get the paintwork mint no matter what then and only then will I enjoy the car

EDIT: Forgot to add upon checking the paperwork with this car, I have noticed recipts from TPS from July last year it seems the last owner did a self service oil, filter and heldex oil @ 78k just didnt write it in the book the current owner didn't even know this.

It has also had the speed sensor replaced and a new door lock and bosch s4 battery in september.
