i think the only time i would now buy an R32 is to say that i owned one, but it is entirely down to Nino really, if you can afford the repayments and happy to let go of the hard work you've put into the 1.8t then i say why not, it really would stop the modifying aspect i think other than adding in a few choice mods perhaps
as said i was saving for one, then the mk5 came out, then the mk6 and before i knew it i had enough for a house with a bit of help from the old man of course but that was negligibly
however i can now start saving again for a R32 and see where the savings take me, i might just hog out on the 1.8t and stick a K400 with supporting mods, yeah theres no value to anyone else, but it will have value to me and ive always said mine will die on the road or die of old age
