oil light on all the time

Hi, got a completely standard mk4 aum, when turning the ignition on the oil level low information comes up on the display then the oil light stays on amber permanently. I tried searching for any similar cases but couldn't see anything, has anyone experienced anything similar? If so how did you rectify it? I should point out the oil level is fine.

Thanks for the quick reply Dom, just checked through the history and its had that replaced in the last month.

Have you had it scanned for fault codes? It may be that if the sensor was faulty it threw up a fault code which just needs to be cleared.
