Yes I know, but legalities Rhys! Need headlight washers and self levelling, I have neither.

Not to pass an MOT you dont.......

The MK4 has the ballasts built into the back of the lights anyway so thats one issue sorted

You'll be fine with projector lenses Kirk, it's bellend who run HIDs in standard headlights that need shooting.

Yeah i think he is confused.....OEM xenons are in the correct units and offer far better light output than any HID kit. The trick is to retain the OEM light output of 4300k. The higher the number the worse the light output

Agreed, once you start going above 4300k it goes too blue.

I was always under the assumption HIDs needed headlight washers and self levelling to pass MOT, I'm not looking at retrofitting aftermarket HIDs either, just wanted the Xenon look headlights from a Bora (the style).

Anyway, even if I did find some OEM Xenons, they are extremely expensive and are as rare as horse poop.

Its a grey area.....

Technically they should be fitted but if they arent fitted then they cannot be tested and therefore failed for not working

Also as long as the beam pattern is level and correct then thats ok too

Mine has passed its last two MOT's this way at two different garaged
