Call received from Technician today. Clutch and flywheel replaced as well as door alignment/ wind noise sorted, a rear leather seat repair done and an alloy wheel re-finished. Car will be ready tomorrow, no charge. If correct... If Heineken did "that's how to give" proper after sales service...

Got the car back yesterday, new clutch and all. The noise is banished.  Superb and whilst I thought it was fine before, gear selection now feels silky smooth.  Brilliant!

Albeit on a lesser scale, the car has started groaning a bit again on take off, more so in reverse.  How can this be after replacement of clutch and flywheel?

Sounds like a top notch dealer. Care to mention who it is? Hopefully reasonably close as I'm looking for a new dealer for my servicing. Its the only thing worrying me about coming back to VW.
