Golf 4 sticky interior plastics

My early mk4 golf gear stick surround/centre console is horrible. I have tried cleaning with APC and warm water, but the plastic is horrible and sticky.

Is this an age issue?

There all like that, its weird and i hate it but thats what there like.

soft touch plastic apparantly. how do i get rid of it? its the lower dash and glove box too!

I just bought Autoglym Vinyl & Rubber Care from Halfrauds. Best interior cleaner I've used to date. Whilst it doesn't completely get rid of the horrible crap on the surface that causes the issues, it does mask it and provides a much better finish / look once done. Give it a try.

All the AG Vinyl and Rubber Care will do is dress the plastics, not clean the sticky goo off them.

I would use AG Interior Shampoo to get the muck off first, then use something like Poorboys Natural Trim Dressing.

Before buying any detailing product tho' try baby wipes.

^^^^ Non of that will work tho because it's sh1t plastic.

Hot water with APC and then the auto glym. For £7 it's cracking stuff.
Gave it 2 coats and it's come up lovely and matte. Not shiney at all. A good smell too. Thanks for the recommendation

Glad you're happy with it bud. It does a better job than most.
