EGR Valve / Intake Manifold cleaning
« on: 06 April 2014, 11:24 »
Just wondering if anyone with a high mileage car has looked into cleaning out their EGR valve and intake manifold to increase airflow?

Mate of mine has recently done it on his 02 Passat and says it has transformed his car. Considering he'd have several pints of Guiness I thought I might bet a more informed opinion from some VW afficionado's who having had anything to drink! (even though it's a Sunday morning and some may have a hangover...)

Yes. Most definitely. I remvoed the EGR completely.

Cleaning out the manifold is an eye opener. SOOOO much crud builds up inside it. Check out the diesel section for a how to.
